Job Description:

Pet Caretaker

Location: Waltham

Salary: Circa ÂŁ26,500

As Pet Caretaker at Mars, you will work in a team environment to provide daily care and management for the pets in our Pet Center.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven working experience or volunteering experience interacting with dogs and cats
  • Animal care / management BTEC or higher qualification desirable
  • Knowledge of animal health and management issues is preferred
  • Experience with basic grooming and training is preferred
  • We want someone who will be willing to work in all weather conditions

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Performing animal behavior and obedience training following the Mars Standards, including implementing behavior modification plans, training for research activities, and support for rehoming
  • Implementing environmental enrichment, exercise, socialization and grooming programs in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Evaluating pet health (both mental and physical) for any veterinary and/or enrichment needs
  • Assisting the Health Care Team in treatment and research collections as needed
