Local Project Technician

Are you passionate about delivering engineering projects from concept through to commissioning? We're looking for a

Project Installation Engineer to join our Engineering team in Melton Mowbray, where you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of major site engineering and capital projects.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, design partners, and contractors, you'll support the design, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment and infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Support the delivery of engineering and capital projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and equipment suppliers throughout the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Review and contribute to engineering designs, technical documentation, equipment specifications, and project plans.
  • Lead commissioning and start-up activities within your area of responsibility, ensuring systems are ready for operational handover.
  • Monitor installation and construction activities to ensure work is completed to required quality, safety, and engineering standards.
  • Manage project documentation, technical records, and maintenance information to support long-term asset reliability.
  • Participate in project reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure successful project delivery and operational readiness.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing engineering gained within a food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated production environment.
  • Sound understanding of engineering principles and their practical application across areas such as Process, Packaging, Electrical, Construction, or Automation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one engineering discipline, with the ability to provide technical guidance and support project delivery.
  • Experience supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and handover of manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
