As Packaging Development Engineer at Mars, you will support conceptual design and development activities, determine the sequence of development operations, and determine equipment and proof‑of‑principle requirements. Significant collaboration is expected with all engineers, designers, technicians, and managers within the breakthrough technology team and key stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
- Systems Engineering or Engineering/Technology or a related Engineering degree
- Consistently meets or exceeds the standards and expectations of internal and external customers and consumers
- 2+ years’ experience working on packaging projects
- Manage scale‑up risk and the introduction of technology into the supply chain
- Extensive experience in engineering technology development
- Demonstrated process and packaging science, packaging engineering, machine design development, and design through virtual prototyping methods
- Can work independently and be a team player
Key responsibilities
- Adapt pack process conditions to ensure that all packs run efficiently and meet required semi‑finished and finished product specifications, QFS standards and efficiency targets
- Utilise modelling and simulating to deploy validated packaging formats across the network with minimal disruption to operations and discretionary costs to the business
- Initiates, coordinates and executes line trials at appropriate supply locations to confirm quality attributes and performance metrics are achieved
- Coordinate the creation of high‑quality prototypes to gauge consumer desirability, influence teams and support customer collaboration
