Are you passionate about quality systems and driving excellence in food safety and quality? Mars Wrigley Plymouth is seeking a dedicated Quality & Food Safety Technologist to be the primary site-based expert and key user for our digital systems and owning and maintaining standards for traceability, hold & release, testing, and sensory evaluation to ensure consistent application across site.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for turning quality data into actionable insights - analysing performance metrics, uncovering opportunities for improvement, and reporting impactful KPIs to stakeholders.

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Technology, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum A-C grades in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths, English & Science.
  • A-Level education with grades C+ is preferable.

Experience & Knowledge

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in Quality within the FMCG food industry (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP and Microsoft Power platforms, including Power BI.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in Quality in FMCG (required).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key user for site-based quality systems including Poka, SAP, Power BI and custom Mars tools.
  • Own and maintain quality standards covering:
    • Traceability
    • Hold and release procedures
    • Inbound testing and conformance
    • Sensory evaluation
  • Train end users on quality standards and system usage to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Report quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to regional and local audiences, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Manage and support execution of site testing activities, including sample management and coordination with laboratories.
  • Raise purchasing requisitions to support the quality team’s operational needs.
  • Use data insights to drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and documentation within the scope of quality functions.
