An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Senior Product Design Engineer to join a globally renowned manufacturer who have been leaders within their industry for decades. The successful Senior Product Design Engineer will be joining a talented R&D team who are designing brand new products, from conception, into design, design modification and testing, and then being the design liaison with manufacturing.
If you’re passionate about product design, then this opportunity is one not to be missed. Applications are welcome from a range of educational / technical backgrounds, you may have studied product design, engineering, or science and have a minimum of 3 years post University or studies design experience.
Senior Product Design Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:- Carry out the design, delivery, modification and rectification of drawings for customer briefs
- Ensure all designs are thought through with a degree of FMEA carried out before manufacturing, reducing performance shortfalls
- Ensure the Design Plan maintains the view of product development
- Setting of milestone tracking for all project activities to ensure design costs are kept within budget
- Create a fully costed design brief as defined by the Product Management team. Ensure all costs, including labour input is recorded correctly
- Abide by company safety guidelines for example wearing appropriate PPE for testing
- Have a recognised degree in Engineering, Design, Physics or Chemistry
- Have previously been the design lead, with experience in product development, project management and project cost control
- Be able to design products using various CAD systems, ideally plastic components and injection moulded parts
- Experience / knowledge in Electronic systems, control or circuit design is desirable
- Monday - Thursday: 09:00 - 17:00
- Friday: 09:00 - 16:30
- Annual Bonus £8,000 (paid quarterly based on targets)
