Our client has been at the forefront of technical innovation for over 50 years and are world leaders in the design and manufacturing of scientific instrumentation. Due to growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Systems Engineer who will be responsible for complex customer projects from conception designs, through design development, validation, product compliance and design release. This is an incredibly involved Mechanical Systems Engineer role, which touches all aspects of the design lifecycle, really suiting an Engineer who still likes to be hands on, and not afraid to get into manufacturing to troubleshoot problems.
I am looking for an Engineer either with a Mechanical or Physics background who has 2-5 years of industry experience either in a design, R&D or production engineering role. The successful Mechanical Systems Engineer will need the following qualification, experience and skills:
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years product design and development experience ideally related to the design of systemised product.
- Knowledge of developing design and product specifications is desirable.
- Knowledge of FMEA, risk (hazard) analysis / What If / HazOp is desirable.
- Experience of development of products and sub-assemblies.
- Experience in analysing and fault finding on complex systems.
- Creation of verification and validation methods is desirable.
- Able to develop, document and control detailed processes and guide technicians through new build and test in Operations.
- Support design reviews looking at Design for Manufacturing / Assembly / Service.
- Knowledge of modular design and system configuration.
- Knowledge of designing to achieve high product reliability and ease of service.
- Validation and product testing.
- Knowledge of fault analysis techniques e.g. 8D, 5 Whys.
- CAD design experience desirable.
- Experience in Engineering Change processes.
