MARS Recruitment is exclusively recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a world leader in the design and manufacturing of instrumentation, systems and devices. After a great couple of years for the business, they are now looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer to manage the delivery of a range of projects from conception through design and into manufacturing.

This would really suit a Mechanical Design Engineer with several years of experience who likes to project manage and enjoys liaising with the customer, design and manufacturing teams to deliver a world-class product.

The role:

  • Liaise with customers, understand and interpret their technical requirements.
  • Create functional specifications and liaise with the design team, assisting with any calculations and analysis.
  • Define test specifications.
  • Prepare documentation and supporting information for that specific product within manufacturing.
  • Manage the process from start through to finish, keeping in contact with the customer at all times right through to the point of installation.

About you:

The successful Mechanical Project Engineer will need to be degree educated ideally in Mechanical Engineering. The following experience and skills are essential criteria:

  • Experience in managing significant projects or programmes.
  • Product experience in high precision mechanics and motions.
  • Ability to carry out design, analysis and/or calculations.
  • Wide experience of design and build processes, knowledge of drawing standards.
  • The confidence and credibility to lead the projects.
  • Previous experience in managing projects.
  • Ability to plan across multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to check and validate engineering designs.
  • Ability to prepare and manage engineering budgets.
  • Knowledge of drawing standards and design processes.
  • Ability to work within ISO 9001 Quality Standards.
  • Awareness of Occupational Health and Safety.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with 3D modelling and CAD packages.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Project or similar software.
