This Cloud Engineer role is the delivery engine of the organisations Cloud function.
Working to designs and standards set by the Cloud Operations Manager, this role is responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers both internal operations and its client-facing project delivery.
My client’s cloud function operates with a code-first, automation-first philosophy.
That means the Cloud Engineer is expected to build and manage infrastructure through code, using (not limited to) Bicep, Power Shell, and Azure CLI as standard tools of the role.
The Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring consistent, reliable, and secure cloud operations at scale.
Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer with the following skills
- Good level of experience working within a Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
- Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code: working knowledge of Bicep for deploying and managing Azure resources.
This is a core expectation of the role, not a nice-to-have.
- Scripting proficiency: regular use of Power Shell and Azure CLI for automation, configuration, and operational tasks.
- Experienced deploying virtualised infrastructure environments including compute, virtualisation, storage, and security.
- Experience with security vulnerability management and remediation.
- Experience administrating Microsoft environments such as Windows Server and SQL Server. Familiarity with ITSM tooling and service desk processes.
- Experience working within or toward ISO 27001 and/or Cyber Essentials Plus certified environments.
