Are you passionate about turning complex data into clear, actionable marketing intelligence? Join Mars as a Manager in Marketing Science & Insights, where you’ll serve as a key member of the Analytics & Insights for Mars Marketing (AIM) team—the Center of Excellence (COE) for Market Insights. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive the evolution of how we measure and understand the impact of marketing investments, supporting our Media Lab with advanced data science. You will have the chance to interact with agentic AI, digital twin technologies, and the use of synthetic respondents to unlock new insights.
As Mars transitions from a focus on paid media to a holistic PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) media marketing model, you’ll help lead the charge in supporting data science and engineering efforts that measure the full spectrum of today’s marketing landscape—including the social and viral aspects that are harder to quantify. You’ll collaborate with diverse, cross‑functional teams to translate sophisticated analytics into strategic business recommendations that drive growth and innovation. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where innovation meets rigor, and you enjoy communicating complex analytics in a compelling way to senior stakeholders, this role is for you.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related discipline; advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in marketing analytics, data science, or related roles, preferably within consumer brands or enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical and modeling expertise, including marketing measurement, experimentation, econometrics, or advanced statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in Python for analyzing complex datasets.
- Ability to translate complex analytics into clear business recommendations that influence marketing investment and strategy.
- Experience working with large, multi-source datasets, including consumer, media, and commercial performance data.
- Collaborative leadership skills with demonstrated ability to partner across marketing, insights, media, and finance teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create coherent PowerPoint presentations quickly for senior stakeholders.
- Bonus: Experience with causal inference frameworks; exposure to machine learning or advanced predictive modeling techniques; experience working with enterprise analytics environments or large consumer brands.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Advance Marketing Measurement and Analytics: Develop and apply robust marketing measurement frameworks to evaluate marketing effectiveness across channels, improving methodologies to ensure credible and actionable outputs.
- Generate Strategic Insights to Inform Business Decisions: Analyze complex consumer, media, and commercial data to identify growth opportunities, performance drivers, and risks, translating findings into clear insights for marketing planning.
- Support the Development of Integrated Intelligence: Integrate insights from analytics, research, and market intelligence to build a comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics.
- Drive Analytical Rigor and Best Practices: Apply strong analytical discipline in statistical methods, experimentation design, and modeling to maintain high standards of rigor and transparency.
- Partner with Cross-Functional Stakeholders: Collaborate with marketing, insights, media, and finance teams to embed analytics into decision‑making processes and communicate findings effectively.
- Support Data Science and Engineering for PESO Marketing: Contribute to data science efforts supporting paid, earned, shared, and owned media (PESO), including working with agentic AI and digital twins to measure social media impact.
- Translate Technical Analytics for Business Stakeholders: Simplify complex mathematical and computational algorithms into business-friendly language and presentations.
- Data Extraction and Reporting: Perform data pulls and create compelling PowerPoint decks; experience with PowerBI or Tableau is a plus.
