As a critical member of the EFNLT and gatekeeper of the performance of the business, this position plays an important partner role in the development of a multi-year value creation plan. In addition, the role leads resource allocation, assessment and execution of financial activities relating to the overall business plan and in the delivery of financial objectives. This must all be delivered while ensuring financial control and governance. The role is also a critical member of the Global Finance Leadership team who help to shape global Mars F&N financials.
Key Responsibilities
- In partnership with the Regional GM and the EFNLT, the CFO is responsible for developing the long-term strategy including a sustainable value creation journey.
- Provide financial guidance and leadership to the business for the creation, development, and delivery of the financial objectives.
- Ensure robust financial evaluation of all major business decisions such as pricing, capital investment and returns on promotional and marketing budgets.
- Be a key partner for collaboration and challenge for peers within the LT especially GMs, Senior Marketing Director and Senior Strategic Demand Director.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls and risk management processes exist and are executed.
- Ensure financial statements are fully compliant with all appropriate accounting standards and corporate reporting requirements are met in a timely and high-quality way.
- Lead and develop a high performing finance team to drive the Mars culture, goals, and objectives through the business unit.
- The CFO is a key partner in significant structural initiatives (org design changes, divestitures etc).
Required Qualifications
- Solid understanding of accounting, tax, and legal limitations in a multi-country environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate all levels within the business to achieve objectives in multiple cultures.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial control systems and financial statement preparation, balance sheet and P&L.
- Strong analytical capabilities coupled with the ability to identify issues, obtain mutual agreement as to the resolution and implement change.
