The Governance & Control BP will support the Regional Controller in providing a balance of Custodianship and Business Partnering of the European Food & Nutrition business. As Custodian, Finance plays a critical role to create and maintain a controlled environment for the business to help maintain its financial integrity. As a Business Partner, Finance plays an active role in helping set the strategic direction of the business as well as providing decision‑making support to deliver financial commitments and improve overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Ensure that proper accounting and reporting processes are in place throughout the European Food & Nutrition BU to support complete, accurate, timely and high-quality financial statements (Quality of Accounts).
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders, using the One Mars standard approach to Controllership, Financial Operations (MGSF), Finance Business Partners, and Tax & Treasury Benefits (ICTC).
  • Oversee period close processes including working with MGSF to ensure adherence to accounting standards and accuracy of accounting information for the units within the Region.
  • Oversee implementation of controls framework, and in partnership with the Financial Control Expert, prepare and execute a regular controls testing plan.
  • Use expertise to interpret accounting practices, assess impact and enforce compliance.
  • Support with external audit, collaborating with PWC to ensure a successful audit.

Requirements

  • A degree or qualification in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • OneStream, CFIN and SAP Experience or Equivalent ERP system.
  • Experience with financial statement reporting obligations, including an understanding of US GAAP/Stat, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Strong accounting and finance background with track record of delivering results.
  • Digitally savvy, with strong user and problem‑centric approach.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret finance results.
  • Good policy, process, and control‑orientation and experience with the ability to drive standards.
