We’re looking for an HSE Technician to play a key role in supporting safe, compliant and efficient operations at our Milton Keynes Horsecare manufacturing site. Working closely with the HSE Manager and site leadership team, you’ll help drive a proactive safety culture across a fast‑paced production environment—ensuring we meet legal requirements, uphold Mars standards, and continuously improve how we operate. From leading risk assessments and supporting audits to influencing behaviours on the shopfloor, this role is critical in helping create a safe and engaging workplace for all associates.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the delivery of site‑wide Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) programmes
- Lead and facilitate risk assessments and hazard identification activities
- Maintain and support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Assist with HSE audits, inspections, and compliance activities
- Lead incident investigations and apply structured root cause analysis (RCA)
- Track and drive completion of corrective and preventative actions
- Deliver HSE training, coaching and guidance to associates at all levels
- Act as a visible presence on the shopfloor, engaging teams and promoting safe behaviours
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing incidents and improving workplace safety
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams to embed HSE best practice
- Attend daily and weekly site meetings to review performance, elevate risks and drive actions
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance
- HSE experience within a manufacturing or a high‑risk environment - desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) preferred
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and incident investigations
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels
- Assertive, proactive and comfortable having difficult conversations when required
- Experience in FMCG, food, agriculture or production environments is advantageous
