Location: Birstall Site, 5/2 on site

The purpose of this role is to drive the CI plan for designated area of factory along with shift technical associates.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level desirable.
  • Track record managing and delivering improvement projects.
  • Multi skilled PLC/HMI/Drives modification/interrogation.
  • Experience in FMCG environment.
  • Computer Literate (SAP / Word / Excel).
  • Problem solving.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • HS&E: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the company Safe Systems of Work, Health and Safety at work act, and report any Health, safety and environment issues via the appropriate escalation process. Act on safety matters in a timely fashion and promote behavioural safety within the operation through leading by example with PPE, near miss reporting, KSB, LOTO and permit adherence. Issue Permits to work when required adopting a lead role to ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner.
  • MSE-PM Breakdown Elimination DMS owner: Facilitate BDA analysis of selected equipment availability issues across site. Assemble teams and lead the determination of the root causes and the development of the best solution(s). Drive the implementation of the solutions through the appropriate Work Processes. Monitor the effectiveness of the corrective actions on a monthly basis as an action item stemming from the BDAs. Facilitate Root Cause Analysis of equipment reliability issues. Coach operators and technicians in simple BDA techniques and methodology. Assist as expert (knowledge) in high level breakdown maintenance and coach operators and technicians in Root cause and prevention technique. Coach out /Drive actions items and solutions stemming from BDA. Assemble relevant data & cross-functional review team and facilitate AM studies in order to develop Maintenance Strategies for the selected systems.
  • Opex process improvement: Assist in developing goals for 3-5-year business plans. Covering issues affecting equipment reliability, prioritised with known root cause and identified solutions. Using outputs from the BDA process/improvement ideas– preventing problems and improving plant, create a Handoff to Small minors with detailed back up documentation. Work with teams to select the best solutions to complex problems enabling hand off’s to the appropriate work processes that support individual plant technology plans. Assess the economic impact of the improvement (small minors) ideas submitted. Prepare Small minor request documentation satisfying all requirements of the process (OM11/12).
  • Team Relations, Flexibility and Self development: Develop a culture where “lost production due to unplanned events is unacceptable”. Improve skills of current associates through training and personnel development process. Undertake work processes promptly and efficiently. Be aware of and keep abreast of relevant new technologies in the field of mechanical/electrical/automation engineering. Provide coaching and training to other team members. Undergo such training as may be required by the Company and have a flexible approach to changes in working methods, systems and procedures as may be dictated by technological changes or re-organisation within the Company. The job holder must be prepared to work such additional hours as may be reasonably required even at short notice to ensure the efficient running of the reliability Department and if this need arises, cover the responsibilities of other CI engineers during periods of absence.
