Are you a passionate culinary professional who takes pride in starting people's days off right? We're looking for a talented and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver an exceptional morning dining experience for our guests at Residence Inn Edinburgh. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our kitchen, overseeing food preparation and presentation, maintaining the highest standards of quality and sanitation, and inspiring a team. You'll bring creativity and consistency to every plate, ensuring our guests begin each day feeling genuinely taken care of.

This is a 40 hours per week breakfast chef position paying £14.17 per hour, with typical shift patterns running 06:00 - 10:30, any day of the week. Residence Inn Edinburgh offers a complimentary buffet breakfast for all guests, served 07:00 - 10:00 Monday to Friday and 07:00 - 10:00 on weekends, bank holidays, and every day throughout August.

Once trained and settled in, you'll be expected to confidently take ownership of:
- Lead daily kitchen operations and guide a skilled team of cooks
- Rota design, shift assignments and timesheet approval
- Food ordering, inventory and PAR stock controls
- Opening the kitchen and maintaining the flow of hot and cold breakfast items throughout service
- Prepare and oversee high-quality breakfast offerings with an eye for taste and presentation
- Enforcing high standards of food safety, hygiene, food storage and allergen awareness
- Log and record keeping, food safety audits and chemical controls
- Post-service kitchen cleaning and food preparation for the following day
- Closing the kitchen
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver seamless guest experiences
After 90 days, further opportunities for on-the-job development open — including curating and enhancing the breakfast experience and joining our Associate Relations Committee to help drive sustainability and food waste initiatives. You'll work as part of a rotational rota team alongside the department leader, covering shifts across any day of the week.
