What We’re Looking For:

To continue our successful growth, we are looking for a Part-Time Finance & Compliance Manager.

As the Part-Time Finance & Legal Oversight Specialist, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing our accounting operations, coordinating tax filings, and providing legal insights. You’ll work directly with our CEO to ensure the smooth running of payroll processes at the end of every month, payments, and minor forecasting activities, supporting our continued growth.

This role demands a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting and tax knowledge, plus the ability to contribute to legal and compliance discussions in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

What You’ll Do:

Accounting Oversight

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities.
  • Oversee monthly bookkeeping and ensure timely reporting.
  • Assist the CEO with end-of-month financial tasks and reconciliations.
  • Ensure seamless submission of digital receipts, accurate accounting records, and timely payroll.

Tax Filing

  • Coordinate and file taxes for entities in Hong Kong and the United States.
  • Oversee US partnership tax returns and coordinate individual income tax filings with accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international tax regulations and deadlines.

Legal Consultancy

  • Provide basic legal insights and collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
  • Oversee and update contractor agreements and contracts as needed.
  • Stay updated on pertinent regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
  • Work closely with external consultants, accountants, and legal advisors to ensure alignment across all operations.

Invoice and Stakeholder Payments

  • Oversee and execute payments to the CEO, other team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely disbursements and accurate record-keeping.
  • Prepare small-scale financial forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to budgeting and cost analysis for strategic planning.

Finance & Legal-Related Projects

  • Support ad-hoc projects involving financial analysis, budgeting, or legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new processes and improvements.
  • Assist with annual Transfer Pricing Studies and ensure alignment with transfer pricing requirements.
  • Calculate and execute transfer pricing adjustments twice a year to maintain compliance and optimize taxes.

Who You Are:

Strong Finance Background

  • Successfully managed finances for a company generating over ten million dollars per year with 50+ staff
  • High-degree of understanding both US and international accounting standards, and hands-on experience with ensuring accurate and compliant financial records across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex tax regulations and requirements, streamlining filing processes for multi-entity operations.

Strong Communication & Organizational Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Capable of articulating complex financial or legal concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Proactive & Detail-Oriented

  • Self-driven approach, taking ownership of responsibilities.
  • Keen attention to detail in financial and compliance matters.

Legal Background / Knowledge (a Plus)

  • Familiarity with contract law, compliance regulations, or legal best practices both in the US and abroad is highly beneficial.

Role Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior-level finance role (Head of Finance, Treasurer, VP of Finance, etc.).
  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory compliance, including contract law and risk management.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero or other accounting software and reporting tools
  • Experience managing multiple entities across jurisdictions

Salary: $2,500–$3,500 per month

Fully Remote: Work from anywhere, with semi-flexible scheduling. Some meetings may be held in the late afternoon or evening to accommodate a global team.
