How will you fit into the bigger picture?

This is an exciting new role in a startup environment, working closely with the founder and Managing Director (MD) and management to develop the business and expand into new areas.

You will be on the ground directly participating in client engagement, buying and selling of precious metals and appraising antique items such as jewellery, watches, scrap silver and other precious metals and luxury goods.

You will run the business operation with a small team, contributing to successful outcomes within the company’s business focus, including

  • Over the counter buying of scrap metals and antiques
  • Direct to consumer retail sales (investment clients and collectors)
  • Wholesale to trade customers
  • General appraisal and guidance

Responsibilities

o supporting the business operation with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

o liaising with specialists, clients and other traders, maintaining a professional and friendly tone

o working swiftly to meet sales targets and avoid delaying sales

o clear communication and full understanding of company policies

o problem solving with MD and management support

o proposing improvements to work processes and systems

Supporting MD and management on outreach

o contacting clients about current inventory

o utilising online tools to message potential clients, partners, influencers, thought leaders on LinkedIn and other social media (with input from MD and/or marketing staff)

o research and contact influencers (social media, blogs, thought leaders, etc.)

o research support as directed by MD and management

o outreach to various companies/individuals to develop business and schedule meetings with MD

Social media and marketing management

o Posting social media posts generated in liaison with MD and/or marketing staff

o Proactively creating social media content as items come through the door

o Highlighting and responding to incoming messages and reactions to posts

o Liaising with Marketing staff and agencies as required

Candidate Requirements:

  • Attention to detail and drive for perfection.
  • Track record in precious metals and/or antiquities, especially jewellery
  • Experience working with high value or luxury goods.
  • Excellent client facing and communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Dynamic individual with the ability to adapt to sudden changes while remaining calm and resourceful.
  • Good knowledge of customer service and sales.
  • Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced and highly ambitious company.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and committed to seeing tasks through to completion.
