Contracted Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Marmon Lift Recruitment is working with an established door and entrance systems specialist seeking an experienced Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer to cover Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. With over 35 years of industry experience, the company specialises in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of roller shutters, industrial doors, automatic and manual doors, access control systems and associated door hardware. This is a home-based field engineering position, responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations across a varied commercial customer base. The successful engineer will have strong mechanical and electrical skills and be confident working independently.

Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, fault-find and repair roller shutters and industrial doors
  • Carry out installation, upgrades, modifications and preventative maintenance
  • Work on automatic and manual doors, door hardware and access control systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults safely and efficiently
  • Attend breakdowns and customer call-outs across the coverage area
  • Provide effective technical solutions and maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and complete accurate job documentation
  • Maintain the company vehicle, tools and stock
  • Work independently and as part of the wider engineering team

The Ideal Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer:

  • Previous field-based engineering experience within the door industry - ESSENTIAL
  • Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills - ESSENTIAL
  • Roller shutter and industrial door experience - ESSENTIAL
  • Automatic door experience - DESIRABLE
  • Access control and door entry systems experience - DESIRABLE
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities - ESSENTIAL
  • Good knowledge of door hardware and associated systems
  • Strong communication, customer service and organisational skills - ESSENTIAL
  • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative - ESSENTIAL
  • Comfortable working at height and in a physically demanding environment
  • Full UK Driving Licence - ESSENTIAL
