Marmon Lift Recruitment is working with a reputable independent mobility engineering company in Kent, now looking to recruit a Trainee Lift Engineer to join their growing team. This role is service and repair only – no installations required. The position will involve assisting with the service and repair of both through-the-floor home lifts and stairlifts, covering a localised patch across Southeast England. You’ll begin a career in mobility engineering, with structured progression opportunities and regular pay reviews.

Commutable from: Tonbridge, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Chatham, Dartford, Rainham, Sittingbourne, Ashford, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough.

Trainee Lift Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with service and repair of straight and curved stairlifts from multiple manufacturers
  • Service and repair of through-the-floor home lifts
  • Planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown visits
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
  • Deliver high levels of customer service at all times
  • Complete accurate service records and adhere to safety standards
  • Attend occasional call-outs (approx. 1 every 3 weeks)

The Ideal Trainee Lift Engineer:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in an electrical or mechanical role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skill set – ESSENTIAL
  • Electrical qualifications (18th Edition) – ESSENTIAL
  • Willing to be trained with stairlifts or home lifts – ESSENTIAL
  • Experience with through-the-floor lifts, platform lifts, hoists or similar – DESIRABLE
  • NVQ Level 2 in Stairlift Engineering – DESIRABLE
  • CSCS and/or SSSTS – DESIRABLE
  • Full UK Driving Licence – ESSENTIAL
