Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a new opportunity with an established manufacturing business?

We’re recruiting a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a busy heavy engineering/foundry environment, keeping critical production machinery operating safely and efficiently.

Day and night shifts available, with a £35,000 basic salary, £20 per hour overtime, and 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays.

What’s on Offer?

  • £35,000 basic salary / £20.00 per hour overtime / Additional overtime opportunities
  • Day & Night shifts available
  • 25 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Monday-Friday day shift - Typically: 05:00 - 15:00 or 07:00 - 17:00
  • Monday-Thursday 10-hour night shift operation
  • Long-term career opportunity

The Role

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), routine machinery checks & lubrication.
  • Mechanical breakdown response, fault diagnosis & root-cause identification.
  • Service & repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, transmission & industrial machinery systems.
  • Installation, inspection, repair & replacement of mechanical components.
  • Support with fabrication, welding, machining & bench fitting.
  • Work closely with production teams and the wider engineering team to resolve issues quickly.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
  • Experience within heavy engineering, manufacturing or foundry environments.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills and experience maintaining industrial machinery..
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to health & safety.
  • Flexibility towards shift working, overtime and weekend cover.
