Location: Ringwood or Poole

Working Style: Office based - Mon to Fri

We are recruiting a Product Technologist to take ownership of product labelling, specification and tin packaging compliance. This is a varied, hands-on role working across food safety, nutritional labelling and packaging/product safety, supporting products supplied to major brands and retailers worldwide.

Working closely with suppliers, customers, internal teams and international partners, you will ensure both food products and their packaging meet all relevant legal, safety and customer requirements for global markets. Candidates must be a UK resident with full UK working rights and be able to commute to Ringwood or Poole. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a technical, compliance or product safety role within FMCG, manufacturing, packaging or consumer goods
  • Strong understanding of food labelling and nutritional requirements
  • Experience managing product or packaging specifications and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of HACCP and experience working within a BRC-accredited business
  • Ability to interpret regulations, standards and technical documentation
  • Highly organised, process-driven and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and maintain product specifications, nutritional data and compliance documentation
  • Produce and review nutritional calculations, ingredient declarations and on-pack labelling
  • Ensure food products comply with UK and international food safety and labelling legislation
  • Manage and review tin and packaging specifications, technical files and compliance records
  • Conduct product risk assessments, including tins containing electronics, moving parts or decorative mechanisms
  • Ensure packaging and finished products meet relevant country-specific safety standards
  • Coordinate product testing, supplier certification and approvals
  • Maintain internal systems for traceability, compliance and technical documentation
  • Support investigation and resolution of product quality or compliance issues
  • Keep up to date with global food safety, labelling and product safety legislation, providing guidance internally
