The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing, leading, and motivating a team of production and packing operatives to meet company targets and customer standards. You will ensure these teams are coached and developed effectively whilst being the driving force behind continuous improvement initiatives, performance optimisation, and developing a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and drive the production and packing departments to achieve efficient and cost-effective packing of all products.
- Leading on people development, creating a learning pathway to enhance performance and agility.
- Taking ownership of key production areas across the packing facility, maximising efficient output of all packing lines.
- Raw material planning, ensuring successful packed product fulfilment in line with company targets.
- Engaging in regular reporting and maintenance of quality/compliance records.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and performance aligned with strategic targets.
- Ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed; investigate accidents as required.
Key Skills:
- Prior experience as a manufacturing production manager or similar is essential.
- Confidence in leading a large team and proven success in training and developing teams.
- HACCP / BRC experience (training or qualification).
- Strong reporting skills; comfortable relaying data and information to the wider business.
- Expertise in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be a proactive and experienced Production Manager who can demonstrate a history of success in training, coaching and developing production and packing teams. You should be confident in your ability to hit the ground running and possess a meticulous approach to understanding the business, identifying areas for improvement and implementing improvement processes. Ideally, you will have gained this experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG or packaging environment.
