We’re searching for a Construction Dispute Resolution Consultant or Senior Consultant with knowledge and experience of construction law, dispute resolution and contentious construction support to join an established consultancy based in Leeds.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join a growing and highly regarded dispute resolution consultancy based in Leeds. Working alongside experienced industry professionals, you will support the delivery of a wide range of contentious and non-contentious services across the UK. The role will involve hands-on project work, including forensic analysis of contracts and claims, preparation of dispute documentation, and providing strategic commercial and contractual advice throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing commercial, contractual and strategic advice throughout all stages of the construction project lifecycle.
  • Conducting forensic analysis of tender, contract and claims documentation.
  • Preparing claims for loss and expense, and adjudication documentation.
  • Drafting reports that clearly set out processes, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Supporting dispute resolution processes including adjudication, arbitration and litigation support activities.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through the delivery of high-quality consultancy services.

The Candidate

Our ideal candidate will possess extensive experience within the construction or engineering industry alongside strong knowledge of construction law and dispute resolution. You will ideally be RICS qualified and commercially aware, analytical in your approach and motivated to develop your expertise within a specialist consultancy environment.

We would love to speak with candidates with the following:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law, or a related discipline.
  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
  • 3-5 years’ post-degree experience within a similar or relatable role.
  • MSc or Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Law or similar would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of dispute resolution procedures and contract law principles.
  • Experience preparing and assessing construction costs, claims, and adjudication documentation.
  • Ability to operate with Standard Forms of Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC).
  • Experience in preparing Expert Witness Reports would be preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and managing client relationships.
  • Must be UK resident with full UK working rights residing within local area.
