Are you a proactive Health & Safety professional who enjoys making a real difference across diverse operational environments? We are working with one of Yorkshire’s most established and respected businesses to recruit a Group Health & Safety Advisor. Working closely with operational teams to promote best practice, improve compliance and create safer ways of working, you’ll have the opportunity to influence health & safety standards across multiple UK sites.

Location: Hull HQ (with regular travel across UK sites)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • You’ll support Health & Safety activity across multiple business units, including:
  • Site audits, inspections and compliance reviews, recommending practical improvements.
  • Accident, incident and near-miss investigations, helping prevent repeat issues.
  • Risk assessments, COSHH, safe systems of work, RAMS and permits.
  • Fire safety, first aid, emergency planning and environmental requirements.
  • KPI monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness campaigns.
  • Supporting external audits and contractor management.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in a dedicated Health & Safety role, ideally within an operational environment.
  • Good knowledge of UK H&S legislation and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with audits, inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments, COSHH, RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • Solid IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A permanent Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • IOSH membership, ISO knowledge, multi-site experience or working towards NEBOSH Diploma/equivalent.
