Our Client: Multi-Vendor IT Reseller & Managed Services Provider / VAR

We’re searching for a strategic and commercially minded Vendor Category Management professional to define & own product lifecycles & strategies and ensure our client has the right products, propositions, and enablement to give them the competitive advantage and drive profitable growth.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Category Management & Strategy: Work closely with the Strategy & Vendor Partnership leaders to define & execute product strategies, ensuring cohesion with the wider business strategy and objectives. Own end-to-end product lifecycles, from vendor product launches, promotion & proposition planning, through to growth and optimisation. Leverage data and market insights to inform product strategies, decisions, commercials, and portfolio prioritisation. Align product strategies with Marketing & Sales, providing support with sales enablement and ensuring alignment with go-to-market plans. Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, suppliers, and key external partners.
  • Commercial Ownership & Performance Reporting: Take ownership of vendor product portfolio performance, driving revenue growth and margin improvement. Set and manage clear KPIs and success metrics, including revenue growth, margin performance, vendor targets and campaign & launch success. Track and report on portfolio performance and identify new opportunities to accelerate growth. Translate performance & market insights into actionable plans to drive revenue growth and margin optimisation.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Develop and lead a commercially focused team of Vendor Product Managers, providing clear direction and guidance to support capability-building and high performance.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a senior/Head of Vendor Category Management, Vendor Product Management, or similar is essential.
  • Experience within a Multi-Vendor IT Reseller, IT Distributor, or within a Vendor‑led environment, with a strong understanding of the UK IT channel is essential.
  • Strategic and commercially focused leader, able to define, communicate, and deliver a clear product and portfolio vision that drives revenue and margin growth.
  • Highly analytical, confident interpreting complex data and turning insight into clear, commercially actionable decisions.
  • Effective people leader with experience building, motivating, and developing high‑performing Product Management teams.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaborator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and aligning teams around shared goals.
  • Relationship‑driven and credible, able to build and maintain long‑term partnerships that deliver measurable business value.
  • Curious, proactive and entrepreneurial, with a creative, solutions‑focused approach to problem solving.
