The Opportunity:

This is a highly strategic, commercial, and data-driven marketing role sat within the Strategy team, focused on shaping the business’s market positioning, vendor propositions, and new customer engagement strategies. This position does not involve campaign execution or creative marketing directly; instead, it will provide the insights, strategy, and direction that the internal marketing team will execute.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Market Intelligence & Insight: Continuously conduct market, competitor, and audience analysis. Research and maintain documentation on core buyer personas across key verticals. Develop measurement frameworks, KPIs, and reporting to quantify the impact of strategies. Analyse emerging technologies, topics, and market trends to ensure the business remains at the forefront of innovation. Evaluate the company’s brand positioning and identity, defining positioning and growth opportunities in the market.
  • Commercial Growth & Strategic Planning: Translate insights into a detailed commercial marketing strategy in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team. Lead on the execution of the strategy with Sales & Marketing, ensuring it is actionable and measurable across business units. Work in partnership with the internal Marketing team to enable effective execution of marketing activities. Drive strategies aimed at increasing market share and revenue growth, ensuring marketing strategy is data-led, commercially focused, and intelligence-driven, supporting sustainable business growth.
  • Sales Strategy Influence: Collaborate with Sales teams to gather feedback, identify new service/product opportunities, challenge assumptions, and influence strategy. Conceptualise and deliver sales enablement programs and content, ensuring alignment with commercial goals, to help the Sales Teams articulate the core value proposition.
  • Market & Vendor Strategy: Identify potential new partners, suppliers, vendors, and customer segments to target for strategic growth. Conduct customer focus groups and research to evaluate appetite and feasibility for new vendors, services, or offerings. Analyse vendor/partner strategies, goals, and messaging to align them with the business strategy. Shape the vendor narrative to drive market share while adhering to their guidelines.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Strategic Marketing Manager/Head of Strategic Marketing role, focussed on data/commercial analysis/business intelligence.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, and managing a team.
  • Experience within the channel - technology sector (Reseller, VAR, IT Managed Services Provider, etc.)
  • Strong data analysis & market intelligence skills, capable of translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong strategic thinking & influencing skills, with the ability to shape business priorities and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working closely with Sales teams.
  • Comfortable with balancing longer-term initiatives alongside evolving immediate business requirements, prioritising tasks based on commercial outcomes/ROI.
