We're searching for a Quality Coordinator to join the Quality department of a leading food manufacturing business based in Harrogate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Compliance or Manufacturing who is looking to develop their career within a varied and hands-on quality role.

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support quality assurance and food safety activities across the site, helping to maintain Food Safety and Quality Systems, support audits and investigations, manage non-conformances, and work closely with Production and Operations teams to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Food Safety and Quality Systems.
  • Manage finished goods and packaging material non-conformances, including stock control, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Participate in GMP audits, internal audits, external audit preparation and CAPA activities.
  • Support HACCP and Food Safety activities, including data reviews, hazard analysis, validations and reporting.
  • Work with Production teams to promote compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements through auditing, coaching and training.
  • Support traceability exercises, mock recalls, documentation control and SOP management.
  • Assist with packaging validations, environmental monitoring activities and product quality investigations.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations and wider site teams to identify risks and promote a quality-focused culture.
  • Provide occasional laboratory support and deputise for the Quality Manager when required.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Experience within Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Compliance, Manufacturing, Production or a laboratory-based environment.
  • HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications are preferred.
  • Internal Auditor training would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Natural Sciences or a related discipline would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across departments.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong prioritisation skills.
  • Proactive, improvement-focused and confident supporting change and best practice initiatives.
  • IT literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages; experience with Safefood or Guardian systems would be advantageous.
  • A driving licence and access to transport would be beneficial due to occasional off-site visits.
