The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of this growing business. This is a hands-on position that combines day-to-day financial management with commercial analysis and strategic planning.
You'll enjoy plenty of autonomy, taking ownership of the finance function while partnering closely with senior leadership to help shape commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Prepare management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Monitor financial performance and provide commercial analysis and recommendations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Support future acquisitions, projects and strategic business developments where required
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Support annual audit and year-end accounting activities
- Provide financial reporting and insights to senior management and stakeholders
- Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting and financial performance
Key Skills & Experience
- Professional accounting qualifications – ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar finance leadership role
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Xero
- Previous experience within an SME where you've enjoyed a broad, commercially focused finance role rather than a highly specialised corporate position
- Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders
- High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
- UK resident with unrestricted right to work in the UK
