The Role

Reporting directly to the Manager Director, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of this growing business. This is a hands-on position that combines day-to-day financial management with commercial analysis and strategic planning. You’ll be responsible for managing the effective financial operations of the business, including management accounts, preparation and review of budgets & forecasts, and financial performance. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to provide meaningful financial insight that supports informed business decisions and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Prepare management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Monitor financial performance and provide commercial analysis and recommendations
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Support future acquisitions, projects and strategic business developments where required
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Support annual audit and year-end accounting activities
  • Provide financial reporting and insights to senior management and stakeholders
  • Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting and financial performance

Key Skills & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualifications – ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar finance leadership role
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Xero
  • Experience working within an SME environment; ideally, you’ll have experience supporting a growing SME business and scaling operations
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders
  • High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
  • UK resident with unrestricted right to work in the UK
