We are searching for an

Engineering, Utilities and Facilities Manager with strong FMCG engineering experience and in-depth knowledge of Krones machinery to join a FMCG manufacturer in

Harrogate . This is a key leadership role, reporting to the Operations Director and sitting within the Plant Leadership Team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a critical role for the strategic direction and growing demand of the business.

Reporting to the Operations Director and sitting in the Plant Leadership Team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for all engineering, utility, and facility related projects.

You will drive efficiency, safety, and performance across these departments, looking at continuous improvement processes and taking ownership for the development of the engineering team.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Leading the Engineering, Utilities, and Facilities departments to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Developing site strategic planning and capacity evolution alongside the wider Plant Leadership Team.
  • Creating a strategic engineering plan, with full budgetary control for expenditure on machinery/equipment planning to ensure cost savings whilst maximising efficiency.
  • Partnering with Production to minimise downtime and maximise capacity through proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Developing and leading the Cap Ex investment strategy.
  • Taking ownership of all Utilities and Facilities around the site.

Functional Leadership

  • Leading a cross-functional team with accountability for business outputs.
  • Championing continuous improvement initiatives, implementing internal systems and principles.
  • Leading on people development, creating a learning pathway to enhance performance and agility.
  • Manage equipment sourcing and supply, making cost-effective long-term decisions.
  • Engaging in regular reporting of data and information to the wider group.

People & Teams

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and performance aligned with strategic targets.
  • Developing resource planning and forecasting for skill needs, compliance, and development requirements.
  • Coaching, supporting and upskilling team members.

Performance

  • Delivery of SQCDME KPIs.
  • Accountable for all engineering, utilities & facilities KAIs and KPIs and supplier contracts.
  • Management of Op Ex and Cap Ex budgets, including preparation and review.
  • Leading best practices in energy and sustainability initiatives.
  • KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Degree level or professional equivalent in Engineering.
  • FMCG engineering experience with in-depth knowledge of Krones machinery.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and deploy strategic plans.
  • Strong reporting skills; comfortable relaying data and information to wider group and board.
  • Solution-focused mindset with strong analytical and coaching capabilities.
  • Experience in data analysis, budget development, and resource planning.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
