The Candidate & Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a rare opportunity to make a huge impact within the senior leadership team of an established, ambitious and growing organisation – influencing strategy, driving profitability, and steering them to the next phase of success.

As Finance Director, you’ll have the gravitas to influence change within the SLT, and take the lead in shaping the financial future, leading and driving strategy across forecasting, budgeting, and risk management whilst championing operational efficiency and robust governance. With your blend of financial expertise, commercial insight, and inspirational leadership, you’ll ensure the organisation not only meets its compliance obligations but thrives through sound decision-making and sustainable growth.

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Overall Financial leadership, influencing financial change within the senior leadership team.
  • Own the cashflow process and budgeting across the business, develop/maintain dynamic financial models to support scenario planning, investment decisions, and commercial strategy.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to deliver actionable insights that drive revenue and margin growth for key projects and BAU.
  • Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to investors, board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Support capital raising efforts, due diligence, and shareholder communications.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring long-term financial stability.
  • Support the SLT in delivering the strategic plan to deliver revenue and EBITA % targets.

Revenue Growth & Profitability

  • Drive sustainable profitability by developing pricing models, financial frameworks, optimising cost structures and improving financial efficiencies.
  • Monitor and enhance gross margin, operational costs, and revenue streams.
  • Support M&A opportunities, investment planning, and business expansion initiatives.

Process Optimisation & Technology Integration

  • Drive automation and AI adoption across financial processes, optimising systems to reduce manual inefficiencies and improve accuracy.
  • Establish robust financial forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning processes across all three business divisions.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring strong succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Detailed cash flow management, tax planning, and working capital optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC tax regulations.
  • Lead annual audits and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence.
  • Implement strong financial controls, governance, and risk management frameworks.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as number one in Finance / Finance Director role, or equivalent is essential.
  • Understanding of the financial nuances within the sector e.g. Deferred income, billable utilisation, and detailed balance sheet builds.
  • Experience within SaaS, Marketing, Digital, or adjacent industries is essential.
  • Experience within a scaling business, ideally with a revenue from £10mil to £20mil.
  • ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification.
  • Strong expertise in financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and commercial finance, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic business insights.
  • Ability to provide evidence of influencing change within a senior leadership financial role.
  • Previous experience working with/reporting to external stakeholders, investors, banks,
  • Knowledge of UK tax regulations, and corporate finance, and experience in financial risk management and governance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
