The Opportunity:
Reporting into the Performance Director, the Head of SEO will take ownership & drive our client’s SEO offering, inspiring & leading the team, delivering KPI-led strategies, strengthening cross-channel integration, refining processes, and building a market-leading function.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- SEO Leadership & Function Growth: Lead and evolve the agency’s SEO offering, shaping how SEO is pitched, delivered and reported across all organic surfaces, including emerging areas such as LLM visibility. Maintain oversight of all SEO activity to ensure a high-quality, commercially effective service.
- Strategy & Client Delivery: Develop and implement KPI-led SEO strategies for key clients, ensuring activity is aligned to business objectives and delivers measurable performance. Provide senior-level direction on strategic priorities and execution.
- Cross-Channel Collaboration: Work closely with content, digital PR, and web design and development teams to strengthen integration across the agency’s wider offering. Share expertise to support optimised content, strong online experiences, and successful website migrations.
- Team Leadership & Knowledge Sharing: Line manage and develop the SEO team while acting as a subject matter expert across the wider business. Support internal marketing activity and promote best practice through ongoing knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
- Commercial Support & Agency Representation: Represent SEO within pitches and contribute to new business opportunities by clearly articulating the agency’s approach, value and capability. Help position SEO as a core part of the agency’s growth and client success.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a senior SEO / SEO leadership role within a marketing or digital agency environment.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering successful organic growth strategies across a varied client base.
- Line management experience with the ability to develop, support and lead high-performing teams.
- Strong technical SEO knowledge with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Expert understanding of SEO across content, links and search systems, including both traditional search engines and LLM visibility.
- Passion for modern SEO and a genuine interest in building and evolving a market-leading SEO offering.
- Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
