Fire & Security Project Commissioning Engineer - Scotland and UK Wide based, Technically engineer, install commission small and large projects across the Marlowe portfolio whilst controlling and planning the projects and commissioning works. Maintain close collaboration with key clients to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved, while upholding company standards for profitability, health and safety, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Commission fire detection and alarm systems in full compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive site surveys, installation quality checks, and performance testing to ensure system integrity and functionality.
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance to field engineers and project teams throughout all phases of delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and site‑specific requirements across all project activities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of commissioning processes, producing clear reports for internal and client use.
  • Support the delivery of end‑user and operational staff training on installed systems, ensuring effective handover and understanding.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage labour and materials to meet project deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Offer technical input and oversight on projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and client requirements.
  • Attend site and client meetings as necessary to support project progress, coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Provide line management and oversight of assigned engineers and subcontractors, including timesheet and leave management.
  • Monitor and manage project profitability, regularly reporting progress and financial performance to the Project Manager.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance across all sites, conducting regular audits and ensuring risk control measures are in place.
  • Perform hands‑on installation and commissioning tasks for systems and minor works as needed.
  • Uphold Marlowe's standards for quality, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years' proven experience in the commissioning of security systems.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge of leading industry systems including Galaxy, Gent, Notifier, and Kentec.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification) is preferred.
  • Experience in delivering engineering projects across both single and multi‑site locations.
  • Strong technical expertise, complemented by effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of major systems and large‑scale project environments, with a focus on quality and compliance.
