Marlowe Digital Ltd is the UK’s largest independent provider of prepress equipment services. We are looking for an Apprentice Service Engineer to join our established service team and develop a long‑term career working with Computer‑to‑Plate (CTP) and prepress imaging systems. This role offers structured, hands‑on training within a specialist engineering environment, supporting both planned installations and reactive service work alongside experienced service engineers.
Location: UK field‑based. Salary: £30,000 per year. Working hours: Monday‑Friday.
The Role
- Assisting with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of CTP imaging systems.
- Supporting breakdown diagnostics and preventative maintenance visits.
- Learning electrical, electro‑mechanical, and software fault‑finding techniques.
- Assisting with customer support and system operation.
- Completing service reports and documentation with guidance.
- Working closely with senior engineers, technical, and logistics teams.
- UK‑wide travel, with occasional overnight stays as required.
About You
- A minimum qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical‑Electrical Engineering.
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
- A solid grounding in electrical and electronic principles.
- Strong interest in hands‑on engineering and fault‑finding.
- Practical mindset and confidence working with tools and technical equipment.
- Willingness to learn and develop in a field‑based engineering role.
- Full UK driving licence (or actively working towards one).
- Reliable, organised, and professional in a customer‑facing environment.
