The Opportunity

You’ll oversee the legal and compliance framework for our global marketing business, ensuring that our commercial goals are supported by robust governance and ethical practices. Acting as a trusted adviser to senior management, you’ll operationalise compliance controls, provide pragmatic legal guidance, and embed a culture of integrity throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver proactive, risk-based legal and regulatory advice to commercial and functional teams across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advise on a wide range of compliance and regulatory areas, including:
    • Anti-bribery and corruption
    • Antitrust and competition law
    • Data protection and privacy
    • Financial services and market conduct
    • Sanctions and trade controls
    • Sustainability and ethical sourcing
  • Partner with compliance colleagues to strengthen oversight, monitoring, and control frameworks.
  • Provide timely, business-focused legal support on strategic projects, transactions, and contracts.
  • Oversee internal investigations involving compliance or regulatory concerns.
  • Deliver training and internal advocacy to raise awareness of compliance risks and best practices.
  • Manage internal and external legal services to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the drafting and negotiation of commodity transaction documentation.

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualified lawyer (common law or civil law jurisdiction) with significant post-qualification experience in regulatory, compliance, or commercial law.
  • Proven experience in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment — ideally within commodities, trading, energy, or financial services.
  • Deep understanding of international regulatory frameworks and compliance best practices.
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to align legal advice with business strategy.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
