Our client, a leading global commodity trading firm is seeking an experienced Senior Power Scheduler to join their dynamic power operations team based in London

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage day-ahead and intraday scheduling activities across multiple European power markets, ensuring timely and accurate nominations with system operators.
  • Monitor and balance physical positions in real time, addressing curtailments, outages, and market constraints efficiently.
  • Liaise with internal commercial teams to communicate operational updates, risks, and market changes impacting delivery.
  • Enhance operational workflows and tools to drive automation, improve data accuracy, and streamline scheduling processes.
  • Support the integration of new assets, systems, and market activities, contributing to a high-performance scheduling function.

You will need to have the following experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in UK or European power operations, with hands-on knowledge of the Balancing Mechanism.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel; familiarity with VBA, SQL, or Python is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Experience with ETRMs and scheduling platforms, including configuration and system setup.
