A global commodity trading firm is looking for a Senior Power Operator to join its London team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing real-time and day-ahead balancing in multiple European power markets
  • Coordinating nominations, schedules, and system processes with TSOs
  • Communicating clearly with trading teams on positions, curtailments, and outages
  • Ensuring accurate booking of physical positions in internal systems
  • Enhancing operational workflows and developing tools for greater efficiency

Your experience will include:

  • Around 2 years’ experience in UK power operations, especially with the Balancing Mechanism
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Python, SQL, or VBA is a plus
  • Experience with ETRMs, capacity markets, or onboarding of new systems/processes
