Our client, a leading commodity trading firm, is looking for an experienced Senior Derivatives Accountant to join their Corporate Reporting team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and enhancing the hedge accounting framework, ensuring robust documentation, effectiveness testing, and compliance across commodities, FX, and interest rate instruments.
- Overseeing derivative valuations and reporting, including mark-to-market calculations, interest accruals, and performance analysis for P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Driving Treasury and Trading system integration with SAP, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of financial data flows.
- Contributing to finance transformation projects, such as Treasury Management System implementation and accounting process improvements.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting, audits, and treasury-related transactions, ensuring consistency and strong financial controls.
You will need to have the following experience:
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Understanding of IFRS standards (IAS 32, IFRS 7/9) and their practical application.
- Experience of hedge accounting within upstream oil and gas commodity markets
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across Finance, Treasury, and Trading teams.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of using a Treasury Management System is preferred.
