We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Close Protection Operative (CPO) to provide discreet, high-level protective services to an Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individual and their family. The role involves safeguarding clients across London and the South East, ensuring their safety, privacy, and wellbeing at all times. This is a contract position suited to candidates with a strong background in private security, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to operate in dynamic, high-pressure environments while maintaining discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide close protection to the principal and family members in residential, business, and public environments
- Conduct advance planning and risk assessments for all movements, events, and travel
- Secure residences, venues, and transport routes
- Liaise with household staff, drivers, and external security teams
- Maintain a low-profile presence while ensuring a high level of vigilance
- Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents
- Monitor and assess potential threats and implement mitigation strategies
- Accompany principal on domestic travel within London and the South East (and occasional further travel if required)
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Ensure confidentiality and discretion at all times
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in Close Protection, ideally within UHNW/private family environments
- Valid SIA Close Protection Licence (essential)
- Strong knowledge of London and South East geography
- Experience in risk assessment, surveillance awareness, and route planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, effective decisions
- Physically fit and well-presented
Desirable Qualifications
- Military, police, or specialist security background
- Advanced driving qualifications (e.g., evasive/defensive driving)
- First Aid at Work (FREC 3/4 preferred)
- Experience working within private households or family offices
- Additional language skills (advantageous but not essential)
Working Conditions
- Flexible working hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
