Our client, an infrastructure firm, is looking for a Junior Engineer to join their team in Folkestone. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across high-voltage cable systems, converter stations, and cross-border energy infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in coordinating maintenance activities and overseeing contractors working on HVDC and HVAC cable systems
  • Supporting asset management processes, including fault response, investigations, and maintenance planning
  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards
  • Contributing to engineering reviews, design assessments, and technical reporting for infrastructure improvements
  • Providing operational and analytical support across cable systems, converter stations, and associated assets

You will need to have the following:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline)
  • Exposure to high-voltage systems or energy infrastructure, ideally through a graduate scheme or similar experience
  • Understanding of HVDC/HVAC systems and their role in modern energy networks
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
