We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Lead to oversee and deliver a high-impact, business-aligned HR function within a fast-paced trading environment. This role will combine strategic oversight with hands-on execution, supporting employees across the full HR lifecycle while driving operational excellence in processes, systems, and talent acquisition. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, ensuring a seamless HR experience and contributing to the firm’s continued growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Act as the first point of contact for employees, providing expert guidance on day-to-day HR queries and issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of matters while maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Support managers with employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinaries, and grievances.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture aligned with the firm’s values.
- HR Operations & Systems
- Lead the development and optimisation of the HR technology stack, including implementation of new systems where required.
- Enhance HR data integrity, reporting, and analytics to support informed decision-making.
- Streamline and continuously improve HR processes, policies, and workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain accurate employee records in line with UK employment law and best practice.
- Talent Acquisition
- Own and drive end-to-end recruitment processes across all business areas.
- Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs and draft compelling job descriptions.
- Proactively source candidates using a variety of channels, including direct outreach and market mapping.
- Manage candidate screening, interview processes, and assessments.
- Conduct reference checks and support offer management and onboarding.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines within financial markets and trading functions.
- Support the development and execution of HR initiatives aligned to business objectives.
- Contribute to organisational design, workforce planning, and headcount strategy.
- Lead or support key HR projects, such as policy implementation, employee engagement initiatives, and process transformation.
- Ensure HR practices align with regulatory requirements relevant to financial services.
Skills & Experience
- Proven HR generalist experience, preferably within financial services, trading, or a high-performance environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing HR systems and improving HR processes.
- Hands-on recruitment experience across multiple levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience working in a regulated financial services environment.
- Exposure to scaling businesses or building HR functions.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and data analytics tools.
