Our client, a global commodities trading firm, is looking for a Senior Derivatives Analyst to join their Commodities & Equities Operations team in London.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily cash movements, margin requirements, and collateral balances across clearing brokers and counterparties.
  • Perform reconciliations of positions, cash, and margin activity, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Build strong working relationships with brokers, exchanges, treasury, risk, middle office, and trading teams.
  • Support and improve operational workflows through automation projects using Python and SQL.
  • Assist with collateral optimisation, balance sheet efficiency initiatives, and onboarding of new trading activities.

Experience Required

  • 3-5 years’ experience within derivatives operations, clearing, middle office, treasury, or commodities operations.
  • Strong understanding of futures, options, margining, settlements, and collateral management processes.
  • Hands-on Python experience, ideally including automation and data analysis libraries such as Pandas and Openpyxl.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work confidently across large datasets and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
