We are seeking an experienced Credit Sales Trader to join our London-based team at a leading agency broker‑dealer. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and executing credit flow across UK institutional clients, with a focus on real money accounts and hedge funds. This is a client‑facing, revenue‑generating role requiring strong market knowledge, an established client network, and the ability to operate in an agency execution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with UK-based institutional clients, including asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, and hedge funds.
- Execute secondary market trades in investment grade and high yield credit (cash bonds, and potentially CDS where relevant).
- Provide market colour, trade ideas, and relative value opportunities to clients.
- Drive flow business through proactive coverage and high-quality execution.
- Work closely with trading, research, and syndicate teams to deliver best‑in‑class client service.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, liquidity conditions, and regulatory developments.
- Ensure all trading activity complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., MiFID II).
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–10 years’ experience in credit sales or sales trading within an investment bank, broker‑dealer, or agency platform.
- Strong relationships with UK buy‑side clients, particularly real money investors and hedge funds.
- Proven track record of generating revenue and growing client relationships.
- Solid product knowledge across European/UK credit markets (IG, HY; structured credit is a plus).
- Strong execution skills and understanding of electronic and voice trading workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment.
- High attention to detail and strong risk awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating within an agency broker or non‑balance sheet model.
