An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Employment Lawyer (2–6 years' PQE) to join the London legal team of a leading international financial services organisation. Based in the heart of London's West End, this role offers the chance to work at the centre of a fast‑paced, globally active business, advising senior stakeholders on a broad range of complex and commercially significant employment matters across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with senior management, HR leadership and legal colleagues, providing strategic and practical employment law advice in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. The Role

As the employment law specialist within the legal team, you will advise on a wide range of employment and workforce matters, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment contracts, incentive arrangements and restrictive covenants.
  • Advising on senior hires, exits, restructurings, redundancies and performance management processes.
  • Managing employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary proceedings and whistleblowing issues.
  • Leading contentious employment matters, including ACAS conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims, working alongside external counsel where appropriate.
  • Advising on business protection, confidentiality and post‑termination restrictions.
  • Supporting corporate transactions and strategic business initiatives from an employment law perspective.
  • Developing and updating HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Advising on regulatory, conduct and risk‑related employment matters relevant to a regulated business environment.
  • Collaborating with international stakeholders on cross‑border employment issues.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and implementing practical, compliant solutions across the business.

In addition to employment law matters, you will have the opportunity to support the wider legal team on a variety of commercial and business‑as‑usual legal work, reflecting the breadth and variety of a modern in‑house legal function.

About You

You will be a commercially minded employment lawyer who enjoys partnering with the business and delivering pragmatic solutions. We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales with 2–6 years' PQE in employment law.
  • Strong technical knowledge across both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
  • Experience advising on senior executive and complex employee issues.
  • The ability to work independently and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills.
  • A pragmatic, commercial and solutions‑focused approach.
  • The confidence to thrive in a fast‑moving and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience within financial services, banking, trading or another regulated sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
