Engineers work with a wide variety of lift manufacturers, including Otis, Thyssen, Schindler, Kone, and others, giving exposure to diverse technologies and systems.

This is a full-time Lift Engineer role based in Kent with working in London, Kent and Essex. Day-to-day responsibilities include carrying out routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on a range of lifts and lifting equipment across various client sites. The role involves performing lift maintenance, emergency call outs and small repairs. Completing statutory LOLER-related checks and ensuring all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and company standards. The Lift Engineer will be expected to keep accurate service records, prepare clear job reports, and communicate effectively with planners, supervisors, and customers. The position also includes providing professional on-site customer support, identifying improvement opportunities, and occasionally participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills working with lifting equipment, including experience with a variety of lift manufacturers and control systems.
  • Proven background in maintenance and repair, including fault diagnosis, routine servicing, and refurbishment of lifts and associated components.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety practices, including LOLER regulations, safe systems of work, and risk assessment on-site.
  • Recognized qualification in lift engineering, electrical, or mechanical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently in the field, manage time efficiently, and complete accurate service documentation and reports.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the London Area and occasionally further afield as needed.
  • Experience in the UK lift industry and familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and service software are beneficial.
