Looking for a sales role that trusts your experience and gives you room to grow? Marley is recruiting an Area Sales Manager to take ownership of Western Scotland. This is a hybrid role offering genuine autonomy, an established customer base and the backing of a market-leading roofing and integrated solar brand.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to manage a region with a strong commercial foundation while shaping its future through specification-led growth. You will work across both established customer accounts and early-stage project opportunities, supported by technical expertise and a collaborative sales structure. You will be trusted to manage your territory, prioritise activity and build long-term value, balancing immediate commercial outcomes with early engagement and specification influence. The role is hybrid, with home working alongside regular travel across Scotland to meet customers, attend site and design meetings, and support projects on the ground.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Achieve set volume/price and identified sales targets as detailed in the business plan.
- Achieve specification projects won in accordance with area business plan objectives.
- Manage communication of area pricing and quotations to agreed company procedure.
- Maximise the commercial potential of new product introductions.
- Deliver customer value by establishing and maintaining good customer relations and effectively responding to queries and complaints.
- Optimise new sales by being better connected through a collaborative approach in relationships with current and potential customers and clients.
- Plan journeys and customer calls in order to achieve optimum use of time.
- Ensure company policy, procedure and reporting mechanisms are fully utilised.
- Attend exhibitions, conferences and other functions.
- Develop and deliver professional presentations as required.
- Identify opportunities for own personal development in the required skills to maximise potential.
- Generate innovative solutions to add value to present procedures and systems.
- Assist as required in the induction process of new starters.
- Follow safe working practice in accordance with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and with Marley Limited Safety Policy.
- Maintain focus on safety at all times, constantly vigilant and proactive in respect of recognising and reporting hazards, ensuring high levels of awareness, and taking a continuous improvement approach to the working environment and safety behaviours in respect of self, colleagues and any other third parties/visitors.
- Always seek to add value, applying lean principles, wherever applicable.
- Any other duties that are considered to be within the capability of the job holder that may be required from time to time.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in sales is a plus, with construction industry exposure preferred.
- A balanced approach to commercial sales and longer-term project development.
- Confidence working independently while contributing to a wider team.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A full UK driving licence and ownership of your own vehicle.
- The right to work in the UK.
