Risk and Compliance Analyst
We’re a friendly, dynamic and growing business looking for an experienced contractor to join our Compliance and Risk Team. Marley is at the forefront of innovation in the UK Structural Warranty Insurance sector, where we provide claims management and loss adjusting services to insurer clients and our customers who may be experiencing a defect with their home.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer, you’ll help ensure that the business operates within its defined risk appetite and complies with all relevant regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our ambitious growth plans, as well as supporting the continuous improvement and embedding of the company’s risk management and compliance frameworks.
Contract Location & Duration
- The position will be based in our Cheltenham office (majority office based, option for some remote working).
- The contract will be for 6 months.

Key Activities
- Assist in the identification, assessment, and reporting of risks across the business, with a particular focus on growth initiatives, underwriting, claims, and operational processes.
- Monitor risk trends and control effectiveness, helping to maintain risk registers, risk assessments, risk appetite statements, Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) and ensure action plans are tracked and delivered.
- Collaborate with first line teams to promote a strong risk culture, effective training approach and delivery of continuous improvement.
- Carry out compliance monitoring reviews in line with the annual plan, documenting findings and working with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
- Analyse relevant regulatory developments (e.g. FCA, ICO) and assess their impact on the business.
- Support the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer in preparing risk and compliance reports for committees and senior management.
- Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory oversight visits, and other assurance activities.
- Help maintain and improve policies and procedures relating to risk, compliance, and conduct.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a compliance and/or risk role within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, including Consumer Duty and Operational Resilience requirements.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management principles and tools (e.g. risk appetite, risk assessments, key risk indicators and controls).
- Effective communicator, able to present information clearly and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and enhance the risk & compliance culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and continuous improvement.
- Highly organised, proactive and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and other relevant systems to support reporting and analysis.
