WeareseekinganexperiencedLossAdjustertoinvestigateaportfolioofLatentDefectClaimsonbothadelegatedandretainedauthoritybasis.ThepositionwouldalsosuitanexperiencedBuildingSurveyorskilledinresidentialbuildingsclaims/defectdiagnosis/buildingpathology.Youwillbehome-basedandareexpectedtotraveltositesthroughouttheUK.

KeyActivities:

UndertakelossadjustingservicesonanallocatedportfolioofLatentDefectInsuranceClaims,ensuringthatalltasksarecompletedefficientlyandeffectively.

Attendsitevisits/on-sitemeetingstoinvestigatecausationandcover.

Reviewreportsandgatherinformationasrequiredtofullyinvestigateeachclaim.

Liaisewithotherindustryprofessionals,suchasSurveyors,Engineers,SolicitorsandInsurerstodiscussclaims,agreeinvestigationstrategies,advisingonliabilityandcostsandmakingappropriaterecommendationswithregardstopolicyliabilityandclaimshandingstrategy.

Manageyourdiarytoensureoptimumuseoftimeandresources,meetingallagreeddeadlines.

UpdateClaimsManagementPortalSystemtoensurealllossadjustingrecordsareaccurateandcomplete,andalldatasecurelystoredfollowingappropriateguidelines.

PeriodicallyattendteammeetingsatShrewsburyheadoffice.

PerformothertasksasreasonablyrequiredbySeniorManagement.

Participateinanyinternalorexternaltrainingasrequired,includinghighlevelCII/CILAqualifications.Thecompanywillcoverthecostofalltrainingfeesbutreservestherighttoclaimbacksomeorallthecostsshouldyouleavethecompanywithinacertaintimeframe(asstipulatedinyourcontractofemployment).

Manageinboundandoutboundcalls,emailsandletterswithinsurers,policyholders,fellowprofessionalsandindustryspecialists.

Liaisewithpolicyholdersandexpertstoensureaccurateandtimelysettlementofclaims.

Identifyandassistinpursuingrecoveriesandliaisewithlegaladvisors.

Ensurecustomersaretreatedfairlyinlinewithpolicytermsandconditions,abidingbyallrelevantlegalrequirements,industryguidelinesandcompanystandards.

Onoccasion,opportunitiesmayarisetojoinotherLossAdjustersand/orClaimsHandleronsitevisitsacrosstheUK.

Activelyparticipateinteamdiscussionstohighlightissuesandpromotegrouplearning.

PerformothertasksasreasonablyrequiredbySeniorManagement.

SkillsandExperiencerequired:

Experienceinmanagingconstructionclaims,includingsimpleandcomplexclaims.Ideallyyouwillhaveexperienceoflatentdefectsinsurancefornewbuilds,conversionsandselfbuilds.Wewillalsoconsidercandidateswithabackgroundinresidentialbuildingsurveying,buildingpathology,defectdiagnosis,subsidenceclaims,generalinsurancebuildingsworkorotherrelatedfields.

ExperienceofITsystemsincludingMSWord,Excel,OutlookandTeams.ExperienceofClaimsManagementPortalSystems,specifictrainingoncompanysystemswillbegivenasrequired.

Strongverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.

Strongunderstandingofbuildingregulations,constructionlaw,insurancelawandtheirpracticalapplicationsintheindustry.

Abletoquicklybuildpositiveandeffectiverelationshipswithinternalandexternalstakeholders.

Wellorganisedwithexcellenttimemanagementskills.

Excellentattentiontodetailandhighlevelsofaccuracy.

Confidentworkingindependentlyunderinstruction.

ACII/ACILA/MRICS/MCIOB/MCABEqualified.Charteredqualificationsdesirable;however,candidatesholdinglowerlevelgradeswiththeabovebodieswillalsobeconsidered.

Bachelorsdegree(preferred)

Qualificationsand/orexperienceineitherBuildingsurveyingorBuildingControlroleswouldbeadvantageous.

ValidUKdrivinglicenceandwillingnesstotravelasrequired.Thismayinvolveoccasionalovernightstays,dependingonsitelocation.
