We’re proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status for three years running - and to be recognised among the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation.
About our opportunity:
If you want to help move materials that matter, this position is right up your street. As an HGV Driver for EMR, you’ll be delivering low‑carbon, recycled materials to the manufacturers that will turn them into tomorrow’s products, making you a vital player in creating a better future for everyone.
What you will be doing:
Without you, our business – and our purpose – would come to a standstill. You keep our operations moving and keep our customers happy – providing timely delivery with a personable touch. We deliver the length and breadth of the UK, but we don’t expect our drivers to travel to the ends of the Earth. You’ll see the beauty of this country by day and be snuggled up in your own bed come night time.
About you:
We don’t believe in shutting doors on potential, so we don’t ask over the odds for qualifications or experience. We can teach you everything you need to know. What we can’t teach is:
- Enthusiasm
- Teamwork
- Excellent communication
- Getting stuck in and hands on
If you have these qualities and a valid Category C (Class 2) license, you’re already well on your way to being an incredible EMR driver. You’ll be driving hooklift and skiploader vehicles, but we’ll happily fill in the gaps by developing your knowledge, skills and expertise on the job. And we won’t stop training you once you’ve reached peak HGV Driver status, because when you work for a global leader in sustainable materials, there is no limit to your career progression.
Who we are:
Our purpose is to create a future where the materials we use don’t need to be extracted from the planet. At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials. Every year, we recycle 10 million tonnes of metals and plastics, saving 19 million tonnes of carbon from entering the Earth’s atmosphere, diverting waste from landfill and protecting resources and habitats.
In return for all they do, we do everything we can to create an environment of belonging, value, support and growth. We’re proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status, but it’s about so much more than a badge. It’s about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.
