The M365 Engineer & SharePoint administrator will be the organisation's subject-matter expert for Microsoft SharePoint and wider M365 technologies. You will support, build and maintain enterprise-grade SharePoint, workflows, automations and data that drive efficiency, improve user experience and support the Group's digital strategy. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure the company maximises the investment in the platform and it is operated in line with best-practice governance, and champion modern digital ways of working. This role requires strong hands-on administration capability, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead the evolution of our M365 SharePoint environment. In addition, the role also supports the core group IT team as they deliver high quality support to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the Group M365 SharePoint platform, including document collaboration pages.
- Support the user community to gain maximum value from the platform and associated M365 toolset.
- Maintain oversight and governance of security access controls with SharePoint and in particular the implementation of shared data repositories, enforcing DLP policies, security best practices and compliance controls.
- Act as the senior point of escalation for complex SharePoint Online technical queries.
- Own the design, configuration and optimisation of SharePoint Online sites, libraries, content types and permission structures.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation including solution designs, governance frameworks, user guides and release notes.
- Work closely with stakeholders to analyse business processes and produce detailed functional/technical specifications.
- Deliver M365 collaboration and automation improvements, including MS Teams integrations, document automation and digital workflow redesign.
- Provide targeted training, coaching and guidance to end users and citizen developers to promote safe adoption of low-code tools within personal and team SharePoint sites.
- Provide regular governance and review of the site structures and estate, and implement housekeeping in line with data retention policy and good practice.
- Contribute to the Group's digital transformation roadmap by proposing enhancements, new capabilities and process automation opportunities.
- Ensure that all solutions meet security, compliance and quality standards, with appropriate testing, validation and release control.
- Collaborate with third-party technical partners when required for complex integration or platform issues.
- Support the wider Technology team with specialist expertise during cross-functional projects and M365 service improvements.
- Work autonomously, managing your project workload, priorities and timelines effectively to meet delivery expectations.
- Carry out other duties as reasonable requested by Technology Management, aligned with the specialist nature of the role.

- Appropriate escalation of support issues.
- Achieve Technology service SLA's for remote and onsite issues, where applicable.
- Support the delivery of the preventative maintenance plan.
- Delivery of projects, within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving end user and infrastructure issues.
- Ensure that Technology procedures and processes are followed and maintained.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Technology team.

Essential Skills
- Strong hands-on experience support, designing and building solutions with SharePoint Online & MS365 apps.
- Strong understanding of IT Support best practice, ticket and workflow management.
- Experience integrating M365 services with SharePoint.
- Demonstratable experience transitioning business problems into technical solutions.
- Excellent documentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working in an agile or fast-paced delivery environment.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
