Overview
Role Purpose: Joining the Group Finance team to provide support in maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers. Completing administration and accounting tasks and providing support to other Group functions as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing invoices on accounting systems
- Obtaining timely authorisations for payments
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Check and reconcile supplier statements
- File invoices and statements
- Dealing with supplier enquiries
- Processing staff expenses and company credit card returns
- Set up new customer/supplier accounts and maintain existing account details
- Review aged creditors and debtors reports
- Processing weekly payment runs via BACS, CHAPS & Faster Payments
- Raising multi-currency commission payments as required
- General office duties; scanning, filing, typing, faxing, e-mail, archiving
- Month end close duties as detailed in the month end task list, including:
- Preparation of control accounts
- Preparation of monthly accruals/prepayments summaries
- Post monthly journals
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Secondary Responsibilities
- Advising the Head of Financial Accounting of all outstanding and current issues
- Attending relevant training courses as and when required
- Maintaining high levels of personal development
- Carrying out other appropriate duties as requested, this description is not exhaustive
